Exploring Careers in Aerospace
A group of 23 BHS students, most from Mr. McDonald's Aviation and STEM classes, went on a field trip to the Aerospace Career Fair on Thursday, Oct. 2nd. Ms. Ingraham, School-to-Career Coordinator, also attended the event, which was held at Laconia Airport and sponsored by WinnAero/ Ace Academy. Exhibitors included the Federal Aviation Administration, Laconia Flight Academy, NH Air National Guard, NH State Police, Nashua Community College (launching a brand new program for air traffic controllers), Plymouth State University, SNHU, and a number of other companies involved in the world of flying. Students were able to try flight simulators, inspect helicopters and planes and speak to the pros who operate them, direct a "robot dog," and get inside a SWAT armored vehicle. Thank you to all the organizers for providing a rich up-close experience!
