BHS Career Fair 2026

The BHS Career Fair on April 27th was an amazing annual event that was brought to our school community by School-To-Career Coordinator Polly Ingraham. She worked closely with student members of our FBLA to bridge the gap between the classroom and the "real world" - our students did not disappoint. We saw hundreds of meaningful interactions as students asked insightful questions and learned about industries ranging from healthcare to technology and public service.

Events like this are only possible through the support of our local partners. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the area employers who took time out of their busy schedules to invest in the future of Belmont High School Students. Your willingness to share your expertise and career journeys provides our students with a starting point that is truly invaluable.

Whether a student  found a potential summer job or discovered a career path you hadn't considered before, we hope this fair served as a reminder that your future has no limits - and many opportunities are waiting for you right here at home.

BHS Students Explore The(ir) Future

Sixteen BHS students attended a Health, Human Services, and Law Enforcement Career Expo at Lakes Region Community College on Friday, February 6th. Ms. Ingraham, School-to-Career Coordinator, organized the trip. The students listened to a panel discussion featuring five local professionals speaking about their own career paths, attended a demonstration by Pembroke Police’s K-9 Unit, and a laboratory demonstration of an eye dissection by an Anatomy professor. They even got to try a simulated wound dressing technique with EMS training staff. They learned about various organizations who were at tables, providing information. We want to thank the staff of LRCC for organizing this event and hosting us!

When a guest speaker is also a graduate of Belmont High School, the event is extra-special!
Nikolai Fernandez, BHS Class of 2015, is a Forensic Scientist who analyzes DNA evidence at the NH State Police Forensic Laboratory. He came to speak to a group of students in Mr. Charleston's room on Tuesday, December 16th. He described how he and his colleagues work with the police to see that perpetrators  of crimes are brought to justice; he also talked about his own career pathway and how he discovered that, within the broad field of Biology, becoming an investigator in a lab was a good fit for him.

Exploring Careers in Aerospace

A group of 23 BHS students, most from Mr. McDonald's Aviation and STEM classes, went on a field trip to the Aerospace Career Fair on Thursday, Oct. 2nd. Ms. Ingraham, School-to-Career Coordinator, also attended the event, which was held at Laconia Airport and sponsored by WinnAero/ Ace Academy.  Exhibitors included the Federal Aviation Administration, Laconia Flight Academy, NH Air National Guard, NH State Police, Nashua Community College (launching a brand new program for air traffic controllers), Plymouth State University, SNHU, and a number of other companies involved in the world of flying. Students were able to try flight simulators, inspect helicopters and planes and speak to the pros who operate them, direct a "robot dog," and get inside a SWAT armored vehicle. Thank you to all the organizers for providing a rich up-close experience!
