Joseph T. Gnerre Memorial Music Scholarship

Deadline: May 1, 2019 Award varies

For the past 24 years The Gnerre Memorial scholarship fund has awarded $51,500 in scholarships, to 47 deserving individuals from the lakes region to continue their education in the field of music.  Link

NEW Amy Dutton Scholarship

Deadline: May 1, 2019 Award varies

Amy Dutton was employed by Winnisquam High School as a physical education teacher for 19 years.  Amy was a gifted classroom teacher, a basketball coach, track coach, and found her true calling as a soccer coach. This scholarship shall be awarded to a male and female senior varsity soccer player.  Applications available at the guidance office. Link

Fisher Cats Scholarship

Deadline: May 1st, 2019  Award $2,500

Candidates for the Fisher Cats Scholarship must be residents of New Hampshire or Massachusetts who are graduating from high school in 2019. Candidates must be planning to enroll in a four-year degree program or planning to attend a local community college or technical school in the fall. NH Charitable Foundation
Deadline: April 12, 2019 4 year program and June 17th 2 year program Award: Varies.  One online application submission will allow you to be considered for 400 Scholarships! Seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the fall of 2019.  Applications are done through the NH Charitable Foundation. Lakes Region Board of REALTORS

Deadline: April 30, 2019.  Award: 2 each at $1000.  Applicants must be a graduating GHS senior, who is intending to continue on to post-secondary education of some kind.  Recipients are evaluated on their academic ability, extra-curricular activities, demonstrated financial need, as well as potential for success at their chosen institution.  Students need to submit the application, a copy of the their transcript, and their Student Aid Report from the the FAFSA.  Applications may be picked up in the school counseling office, and are to be returned to the school counseling office as well  Link


Blacktop Saints Scholarship

Deadline: April 15, 2019  Award varies

This scholarship is focused on awarding a graduating senior with assistance to pay for books and school supplies needed for their first college semester.  The selected recipient must embody the mission of the BSRC in regards to community service and providing time and support of others. Link



Michael's School of Hair Design & Esthetics Scholarship Program

Deadline: variable depending on start date.  Award: $500.  Students interested in one of three programs: Cosmetology, Esthetics, or Barbering, are eligible for this award, should they choose to go to Michael's School of Hair Design and Esthetics.  Recipients need to show financial need, artistic sense, and a strong interest in one of the three programs.  Please see the School Counseling office for more information link


Law office of Manning and Zimmerman Scholarships

Deadline: May 1, 2019.  Award: $1000.  Applicants must be NH students who enroll in any type of secondary education or vocational/technical school, in-state or out-of-state.  There are two questions to be addressed: 1. How significant is distracted driving in your peer group and describe the problem as you see it; and 2. What can be done to reduce or eliminate distracted driving to make our roads safer?  One award will be given for a written entry, and one award will be given for a video entry. Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

Deadline: April 3, 2019 for Early Response; May 1, 2019 for Regular Response.  Award: Variable. This fund offers renewable, four-year scholarships to students with financial need who display academic achievement, a commitment to serving others, a consistent history of part-time work, grit and passion for overcoming obstacles and/or achieving future goals, and leadership qualities.  Eligible Applicants MUST: attend college anywhere in the US, but must be from New England; be seeking their first bachelor's degree; will attend college full-time in the year 2019-2020; must have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher; should have a history of part-time employment; must have demonstrated need - The intent of the scholarship program is for students with an EFC of $10,000 or less, but someone with any specific unusual circumstances can call before they apply; Must be a US citizen.  Applications must be submitted on-line and can be found at the Guidance office. www.phillips-scholarship.org.     Link


John Alger Memorial Scholarship Program

Deadline: April 30, 2019  Award $1,000

The New Hampshire Society of Professional Engineers (NHSPE) annually sponsors a competitive merit and needs based scholarship program (John Alger Memorial) that awards a minimum of $1,000. The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to students (NH residents) who are already or will be attending an ABET-EAC accredited college or university for studies in the field of engineering. The scholarship encourages growth and career development at the state level within the areas of Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Environmental, and Electrical Engineering professions. Capitol Region Board of REALTORS

Deadline: April 19, 2019  Award: (1) $4,000, (4) $1,000

The recipient will be the student that shows the most involvement.  Students must live in Canterbury.  Requirements are one letter of recommendation from a faculty member, and an essay explaining the student’s contribution to their community.  Applications and instructions can be picked up in the School Counseling office.  Any additional questions can be addressed to Melanie Paskavitch at 603-387-2610. Hope Starts Here Scholarship - NH Coalition to End Homelessness

Deadline: Postmarked by May 1, 2019.  Award: Variable.  Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements: be under the age of 21 prior to the application due date; be residing in NH at the time of applying for the scholarship; be actively pursuing post-secondary education; must have experienced homelessness at some point during their school career.  Parameters on homeless status are defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act.  Applicants can visit www.nhceh.org/scholarship for more information and an application Link


New Hampshire Gay Men’s Chorus

NEACAC Essay Contest

Deadline: April 5, 2019.  Award: $1000. Applicants are high school seniors of NEACAC high schools (GHS is one) who are planning to attend post-secondary education.  Applicants are invited to submit a 500-word essay on the following topic: "Describe a counselor, teacher, or coach who has had the greatest influence on your decision to attend college.  How has this individual impacted your future?  What will you do in college or beyond that will make a difference in your community?"  Please visit  www.neacac.org/essay-contest-information-application for more information and to applyLink


American Legion John A High Child Welfare Scholarship

Deadline: Received by May 1, 2019.  Award: $2000.  Candidates for this award shall be boys whose father or mother have been members of the American Legion or American Legion Auxiliary continuously for three (3) years immediately preceding the date of application; or are the sons of a deceased veteran; AND who are in their senior year in high school and are in actual need of financial assistance.  Candidates must be entering the first year of a 4-year college or university leading to a Bachelor's Degree.  In addition to the application, candidates should also submit: two letters of recommendation: one from their high school principal and one from the clergy of the church which he attends; an original article written by the applicant consisting of not more than 300 words on the following "What this scholarship would mean to me."; and an official transcript.  Also a photo-copy of post, unit, or squadron membership card is required to be submitted with the application (Parent, Self, or Grandparent.)  Applications can be found at legionnh.org under the Scholarships and Awards link link

of Education and be entering a first-year program; provide a brief narrative of

American Legion Lee P. Mahle Memorial Field of Education Scholarship

David M. Kent NH Teachers of Mathematics Scholarship

Deadline: May 1, 2019.  Award: $1000.  The NH Teachers of Mathematics are pleased to offer a $1000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who plans to enroll in a certification program for middle school or secondary mathematics education; or elementary education; or mathematics with the intent of becoming a mathematics teacher.  Applicants must be graduating from a NH high school or be a NH resident, and have been accepted at a fully accredited college or university.  Selection criteria includes: academic achievement; financial need; involvement in extra-curricular activities; and involvement in school and community service.  In addition to filling out the on-line application, applicants need to either email or mail the following additional materials: a copy of their high school transcript; a copy of SAT or ACT scores; two letter of recommendation; and a copy of their Student Aid Report from the FAFSA, which shows the Expected Family Contribution amount.  All of the information and the application can be found at www.nhmathteachers.org/page-1733361
